Credit Bureau Disputes – A Closer Look

October 22nd, 2009 Tim Beachum No comments

The mission of this article is to help you to have a better understanding of the credit bureau dispute process. I highly recommend that you print and save this article. Once the credit bureaus get wind of this article they will do anything that they can to stop it from being distributed. The bureaus don’t want you knowing the truth. Continue reading and pay close attention as I peel back the mask on these legal criminals.

If you were to believe what you read on the credit bureaus websites you would think that they exist to help the consumers. If you believe that I guess you still believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, and the Tooth Fairy.

Looking at the big picture from the outside looking in, it would appear that the credit bureaus are setup to help the consumers. Although that is a noble idea it couldn’t be further from the truth. A wise person once said that you should never bite the hand that feeds you. The credit bureaus are no different – they will never bite the hand that feeds them.

The credit bureaus don’t make a damn dime from helping you. Not one red cent! They are not in the business of helping consumers they are in the business of collecting and selling your information to businesses. Always keep in mind that when you are dealing with credit bureau disputes it’s never personal just business. The main goal of every business on the face of the planet is one thing… Make a profit.

Do the math, by helping you with your credit woe’s the credit bureau’s make nothing. By helping various corporations the credit bureau’s rake in money hand over fist. So looking at this from a factual stand point and understanding that we are dealing with businesses, and we now know that the goal of all business is to make a profit – it’s clear to see that you have no one but yourself in this battle.

The credit repair battle is fought on two fronts simultaneously. The first front is the battle for establishing new lines of credit. This is a pretty easy battle and can be won rather quickly. The second front is paper battle that is fought via credit bureau disputes. This is a series of written letters that you use to dispute your claims. Although this process may seem a little grim from the onset there is a little light at the end of the tunnel. There are a few laws in place that will force the credit bureaus to meet certain guide lines.

After submitting your letters of disputes, the credit bureaus have 30 days to investigate and respond to your claims. If they respond by clearing the false claim then all is well. If they fail to respond within the allotted 30 day time frame by law they have to remove the claim in question.

During the credit dispute process many people will try to shortcut by using a template that they have found on the Internet. Big mistakes the credit bureaus know this is a template and they have an arsenal of tricks that they will use that will do you more harm than good. For example once they realize it is a template they may try to call you and ask you a few questions regarding your claims.

On the outside this may seem like a harmless call. In reality this call is done to reset the clock on the 30 day’s that they have to process your claims. The best way to avoid getting caught up in the bureaus games is to not communicate with them at all once you have filed your credit dispute letters. Let the 30 days elapse before you make your next move.

I hope that you have found this information to be helpful. For more detailed information regarding credit bureau disputes visit my blog. Or you can discover how I have taught hundreds of individuals just like you to win credit bureau disputes in record time themselves.

Uncloak The Mystery Of Credit Rebuilding

October 19th, 2009 Tim Beachum No comments

You are well on your way to understanding the credit rebuilding process. The goal of this article is to make everything as easy as humanly possible for you. I am going to pull back the curtains and reveal some powerful secrets that I had only revealed to my students.

Forget about all of the mumbo jumbo that the credit repair experts tell you, the truth is the credit rebuilding process is not complicated. I will give you the exact same advice that I give to my students. Start at the root of the process which is your credit score. You must first understand the job of the credit score. This number gives lenders a birds eye view of the negative and positive aspects of your credit report. Most credit rebuilding systems that you find on the market today only focus on the negative aspects of the credit repair process and they totally neglect the positives. Even if you have a firm understanding of how to remove the toughest errors from your credit report you will still need to focus on building a new line of credit.

Meet the judge, and the witness. The credit lenders are the ones who will judge us based on what our witness has to say. The witness is our credit score, which is suppose to give the lender a bias opinion on weather or not we can repay a loan.

Most credit repair experts will also tell you to get rid of your credit cards. I tell my students to embrace their credit cards. Revolving credit is a good thing and is one of the fastest ways to boost your credit score. I recommend my students keep at most two credit cards and do whatever they have to keep the balances at 20% or below.

No need to fear if you do not have any credit cards and your credit may be to bad at present for you to get one. You can always request a secured credit card, it is easy to apply for and it will serve the purpose. You cannot use those department story type credit cards. They are worthless and do nothing but damage your credit report.

According to the latest Credit and Debt report individuals with credit cards end up destroying their credit because they do not understand the five ratios that affect their credit scores. The five usage ratios are as follows 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. If you were to use your credit card(s) with the usage of sixty percent it wouldn’t affect your credit score either way. The two tiers below sixty will increase your credit score and the two tiers above sixty will decrease your credit score. For example if you were to keep a balance of 20% on a new revolving account you could increase your credit score by 150 points.

You need a plan before starting the credit rebuilding battle. This battle is fought on two fronts. The first front is covered in this article the building of new credit. The second battle is fought in the past by battling with errors and corrections that need to be made to your credit reports. Making the appropriate corrections to your credit report could increase your credit score an additional 300 points easily.

Establishing new credit lines are pretty easy and the process can be accomplished in about a weeks time. Removing errors from your credit report can be a bit more challenging and is recommended that you arm yourself with a good credit repair system. Although there are new credit repair systems being developed daily feel free to use the same one that I personally developed for my students – credit repair made easy.

Fixing Credit Report – The Good… The Bad… And The Truth

October 12th, 2009 Tim Beachum No comments

By the time you have completed this article you will have a working knowledge of the “fixing credit process.” It doesn’t matter why you have decided to learn this process the important thing is you have made a wise decision by doing so. Repairing your credit will open up new doors of opportunity for you. It can possibly lower you monthly bills, you will have the ability to open up a bank account, rent a nice apartment, the possibilities are endless.

Before I begin explaining the fixing credit process, I feel it is important that you have the right mindset before we begin. It’s important that you realize that you didn’t destroy your credit overnight and you will not be able to improve it overnight. You should also note that you have a variety of options when it comes to repairing your credit. You can use a credit agency, a credit repair attorney or you can opt to do it yourself. By doing it yourself you will have more control over you financial fate as well as save hundreds of dollars.

NOTE: You will want to read this part closely. I must warn you… You should prepare yourself for the shock of a lifetime. The media has spent hundreds of millions of dollars to convince you that credit repair is an extremely difficult process, and of course they just happen to have the solution which just happens to be their services.

Hold tight as I peel back the mask and reveal the truth about these so-called credit repair agencies. The first warning flag is when one of these credit agencies ask you for money up front for their services. Once they have your hard earned money they will string you along as long as they can. By the time you realize you have been scammed you will find yourself right back at square one and with less money than you started with.

I am proud of my track record when it comes to the hundreds of individuals that I have helped by teaching them to repair their own credit. What I am even more proud of is the fact that most of the individuals didn’t have a clue what their credit report was let alone how to repair it. The even better part is most of them were able to do it in less than 60 days.

As promised I want to get you started right away. Here are some steps that you can take right now to get you started with the “fixing credit” process. The key is to start off by building a solid foundation. You can achieve this by acquiring all three of your credit reports from the credit bureaus. This will allow you to know where you stand credit wise.

Go over your credit reports with a fine tooth come and highlight any discrepancies that you may find. Although this step may sound simple it is your foundation and it is VERY important. Even if you are unsure of something still highlight it, it is better to be safe than sorry. Do not forget to check your personal information such as your name, address, and place of work. You will want to make sure that they are all correct.

After you have highlighted all errors it’s time to prepare for battle. You will need to prepare three letters of dispute, that is one for each of the credit bureaus. You will want to dispute EVERYTHING that you have highlighted. Any decent credit repair kit will have templates of a dispute letter if you need help. Once you have mailed your letters of dispute you are well on your way. As you can see the process is not that difficult as you were made to believe. In reality it is pretty simple. After mailing your letter of disputes out to all three bureaus it’s time to play the waiting game. The bureaus have 30 days to respond regarding removing the items you have disputed. If they fail to respond then by law they must remove those items from your report.

Looking at the credit repair process realistically, 30 days isn’t much time for lenders to respond. In some instances the lender will respond by saying that your claims are inaccurate just to beat the 30 day deadline. They know that most people will give up after this. Since you are reading this you now know that the words “give up” are no longer in your vocabulary. With that thought in mind you should contact the lenders directly. Before doing so make sure that you have proof of your claims ready because they are going to try to keep you on the hook. After you have proven your case request something in writing stating your agreement.

Repair Credit History – Proven Strategies That Will Work For You

October 12th, 2009 Tim Beachum No comments

The mere fact that you are reading this proves that you are serious about your credit and you are ready to do something about it. You should stop reading this just for a moment and bookmark this article. You will want to refer back to it over and over again. You should also grab something to take notes with.

Before you can worry about repairing your credit history you must first get your affairs in order. You can only accomplish this by first getting organized. So let’s begin by creating a list of your current income. This means including everything from government checks to pension checks. Now that you know what you have coming in on a monthly basis it’s time to figure out your expenses such as car payments, school loans, utilities, rent etc. This is considered a balance sheet and by putting one together you will have an excellent idea of exactly where you are going wrong with your personal finances.

It’s time to take action. Contact your creditor and negotiate some sort of repayment plan. Once you and the creditor have come to a mutual agreement you will want to get the agreement in writing. DO NOT leave it up to the creditor to draft up the agreement letter, it will never get done. Since it is you that need them more than they need you, it is recommended that you take the initiative to draft up an agreement letter and send it to the creditor along with a self address stamped envelope.

Another point that I would like to bring to your attention, is if you have a delinquent history, and a low credit score, I recommend writing a letter asking the creditor to change any charge-off to a, “paid as agreed”, “paid in full, on-time.” FYI this process can also be used with collection agencies as well as credit lawyers. It is crucial that you do ALL negotiations before you pay a damn dime. If you send any type of payment you instantly loose any advantage that you may have had.

With your agreement in place you are moving in the right direction. You can keep up the good work by starting a new line of credit. This is a strategy that is often over looked and that can immediately increase your credit score by 150 points. In order to start a new line of credit all you have to do is get a secured credit card, secured loan, or a car loan. Out of the methods that I have just mentioned obtaining a secured credit card is by far the easiest one. It is also important to note that you should never let your balance go over 20% of the maximum credit offer.

The information found within this article will help you repair credit history fast. Although this article is a great start it isn’t enough. You will have to focus on improving errors on your credit report as well. It is very rare that I have found a credit report without errors. Even the Federal Trade Commission recommends that individuals repair their own credit. They go on o explain that their is nothing that any other agency can do that you cannot do for yourself.

Repair Credit History – Techniques That Will Improve Your Score Fast

October 8th, 2009 Tim Beachum No comments

Before we roll up our sleeves and take the gloves off I highly recommend that you bookmark this article. You will need to refer to it repeatedly. I also recommend that you get something to take notes with.

Let’s begin by getting you organized. You will want to generate a list of whatever revenue you currently have coming in. Don’t forget to include revenue such as government checks, tax breaks, or any additional pension payments. Next make a list of all your fixed expenses, i.e. utilities, rent and or mortgage payment, car loans, groceries, etc. I think you get the point of what a fixed expense is. By following this process you will develop a good understanding of where you are making mistakes with your finances.

If you have a damaging history of delinquencies, and a poor credit score, I recommend that you write to the creditor asking them to change any charge-off to a, “paid as agreed”, or “paid in full, on-time.” The same strategies that I am sharing with you right now will also work with collection agencies and credit attorneys as well. The most important thing about using this technique is to remember… DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY UNTIL YOU HAVE AN AGREEMENT!!! In the past I have had students send a payment in with the agreement letter just to find there self standing in front of a judge, and worse than that they lost the case and ended up spending more money.

The strategies that I have just shared with you will indeed help to repair credit history, however it isn’t enough. You will also want to correct some errors that you currently have on your credit report. If you were to listen to the media you would believe that the best way to repair your credit is to use a credit repair agency. However if you were to to believe the Federal Trade Commission (which would be a wise choice) they explain that there is nothing that any other agency can do for you that you can not do for yourself. In fact they recommend that you do repair your own credit.

The best option is to take control of your own financial destiny by doing it yourself you will have more control over the outcome, not to mention that you will save hundreds of dollars.

It is highly recommended that you read this part very carefully because the next few sentences may shock you. Televisions, newspapers, and magazines will lead you to believe that repairing your credit yourself is a big mistake. To let them tell it the right thing to do according to them is to use there service, and pay them to do it for you.

Keep reading as I pull back the curtains and reveal the secrets of the credit repair agencies and their scams. The first tale-tale sign is when the company ask you for money up front. With money in hand they will string there victims along as long as they can. By the time you realize that you have been scammed it is to late. You will find yourself back at square one and with less money.

You will want to get a highlighter and highlight all the little errors that you may find on your credit reports. Do not forget to check your personal information, such as the correct spelling of your name, address, and place of employment.

At this point you should have all the errors highlighted, and the fun is about to begin. You will need to start writing your letters of dispute – disputing each of the errors that you have highlighted. Note that any decent credit repair kit will have sample dispute letters that you can use to help you along this process. Once you have written and mailed your letters of disputes it’s time to play the waiting game. The bureaus have 30 days to respond to your claims. If for any reason they should fail to respond in the alloted amount of time they must by law remove all claims.

Keep in mind that 30 days isn’t much time for companies to respond and in some cases they still make errors. If you find that they haven’t done their jobs simply redo another letter of dispute stating that this is an error and include any proof that you may have. In most cases things will get cleared up the second time a round. If not you will have to contact the lender directly. Their information can normally be found on the credit report.
